Projektino was founded in July 2009 and launched in January of 2011. The company CEO is Peter Frey, who developed the app from concept to the current stage. There is no data or statistical information available.
The main things that set Projektino apart are the timeline feature, and the integration with social media and Google apps. The Twitter-Like Timeline feed keeps all of the team members up to date on the latest additions and changes to the job.
Logging in brings the user to a Main Project Manager page. There are two main screens: My Dashboard and Project Dashboard. My Dashboard has messages, tasks, milestones, files, timeline, and more items that pertain to the projects the user is working on. This page is visible to others working on the same project, so that resources may be easily shared. The Project Dashboard is individual to each project and contains all of the information related to the project, such as messages, milestones, tasks, action timeline, tags, and more. Communication through Messages or Signals takes place here.
Each team member, dependent upon their role, completes profiles and begins working on the appropriate areas on the dashboards.
The profile includes communication preferences, Phone, Skype, Twitter, etc. Additional information including location and website, important information and a brief biography. A profile photo may be uploaded. Availability is indicated, name, title, notification settings, and privacy settings.
People may be invited to projects once they are created. Groups may also be created for teams who work on several projects.
To create a project, the user chooses a project name, provides a brief description, assigns a leader and uploads a photo. All of the functions are very intuitive and easy to use. Everything is menu-driven with fill in the blank or dropdown menus.
The interface is simple, but if anyone needs additional assistance, the help tour page provides extra information via slideshow.
Users may sign up with Facebook or create a Projektino account. If creating an account, a username, email, password, and plan choice must be provided. Paid accounts must provide payment information. An email is sent within one minute confirming account registration. No action is required from the email. Users may simply login as soon as they have provided the required information.
